You need to remove the inner cargo hatch trim. There is a 10mm bolt holding the strap on. After that the entire plastic piece pulls off with some force. There are clips around the perimeter pull up towards the roof and it will slide off. Unscrew the large inside metal panel. You will now see the surround. Undo the 2 bolts holding the handle mechanism in place. Then undo the bolt next to the lock cylinder. Rotate the plastic piece where the rod goes into the lock cylinder and slide the rod off. Now there are 4 clips holding the surround on. Use some pliers and push the clips in and push out. I would buy some new clips from the dealer before doing this. I believe you need to unhook 2 wiring harness connectors.
