Removing step rails from 2015 Limited

These are NOT the auto-retracting kind.
I see there are 3 mounts and 6 bolts. Theyre pretty much just useless and in the way to me. I would like to remove them to see if I can live without them and I'll replace them with something else if needed.

Anyone else done this?

Yeah, you'll find many choose to take them off all together or replace with something else like sliders. Check the stickies for the picture threads to see plenty examples.

Replaced mine with sliders. Literally took like 5 mins to take off.

And they're off! Ok, so it took me about 10 minutes. All the damn dirt falling off in my face slowed me down. But I love how she looks now!!
