removing wheels to plasti dip... does it affect alignment or balance?

i'm planning on plasti-dpping my wheels soon and was wondering, when removing all four wheels does it affect the alignment or balance when putting them back on?

If you remove the weights to paint them you will have to have them re balanced,and it will not need to be re-aligned.

Do you plan on painting the inside of the barrel? Most people only plastidip the face of the wheel and call it a day. No need to remove the wheel weights or the wheel off the car for that matter. I guess if you want to be thorough you can.

It's not permanent if you don't like the color.

plastidip is good but it really doesn't hold up well for wear. if you know you want the colour just paint them with good quality rim paint. you won't need to do alignment for sure just like the other member says you will only need to balance if you take the weights off the wheel. just a little time saver for you. you can use a deck of card and put them between the rim and tire then spray will cut down on a lot of taping.

plastidip is good but it really doesn't hold up well for wear.

I've dipped my winter rims and ran then for a few years with no problems. Salt, snow, sand, pressure washes. Held up through it all.

I find the problems people report with plastidip is mostly due to user/application error.

I do caution against painting over dip. I've seen it make the dip brittle and a PIA when trying to peel it off. Potato Potatto.

No, applying plastidip (especially given that it spans the face of the wheel radially) should have a negligible affect on balance and absolutely no affect on alignment.

So don't worry about alignment or balance. I won't judge you for plasti-dipping your wheels but many will
