Removing XREAS to Install OME Question

I will be installing an OME susp on my 4R in the next couple of weeks and I have a question about removing the XREAS shocks.
I have read more than a few threads on doing this install and feel pretty confident about the install.
I have read where it's best to put the vehicle on 4 jack stands so all the shocks are extended and filled with oil before removal.
I just don't feel it's very safe to be working on a vehicle where all 4 corners are on stands. I would much rather do one end at a time, but I want the option of using the XREAS shocks at a future time.
Anyone know if it will ruin the shocks if all 4 are not all extended at time of removal?

Sorry, can't help with the XREAS question, but working on 4 stands is very safe. Just make sure that jacks make good contact with the chassis and your garage/driveway is level. Great to read you are considering safety issues before starting the work. For added safety I always keep the wheels on their side underneath the vehicle whilst I'm doing the work, so if something does go wrong the car will come down them and not me.

Yeah, if I have to have it up on 4 jack stands, I thought about keeping the wheels on the rear while I work on the fronts and putting the wheels back on the fronts while I work on the rear.
I really prefer to have only one end on jack stands though, but don't know if that will work removing the XREAS shocks.

Why are you worried about saving the Xreas ? Are you planning on selling it or reinstalling it at a later date.

xreas is a cross linked system and therefore if you keep any part of the wheels under pressure you will expel the oil in the system and render the xreas system useless. if you want to lift your vehicle please make sure that the entire vehicle is off the ground and there are no pressures applied to any of the shocks.

you can completely remove the setup once all pressure is off and install your aftermarket suspension.

Why are you worried about saving the Xreas ? Are you planning on selling it or reinstalling it at a later date.

No plans to reinstall once it's removed, but I want to keep my options open. Never know.

Since you decide to remove your XREASand use the OME how hard is it to remove? I have been thinking about doing the exact samething but wasnt sure of the removal of the shocks without messing them up. I have read a lot of people installing coil spacers front and rear but is it possible to put new OME springs and keep the XREAS shocks??? I dont see much difference between a 2" spacer and a 2" extend coil spring. Front may be a little different with it being a strut but logic is still the same. Any ideas??

Not sure about OME springs and Xreas shocks, some members have been pondering such a combo, but don't know if anyone has done it yet.
The Xreas shocks can be removed without screwing them up, there are a couple DIY threads here that members have put up.
I haven't installed my OME susp yet, so I'm getting ready to find out first hand. It looks like a PITA but not really hard.
I also thought about coil spacers, but seemed like most had issues with the ride becoming harsher as time went on.
I say if your going to do it then do right the first time.
I got my OME set up from Slee and they will build the fronts so you don't have to mess around with taking the stock coil/shocks apart to use the top plates or mess with a coil compressor to put together the OME fronts.
