Not my video , found it on the YouTube and its rather hilarious 4runner rocks mud snow and dunes! Moab and Sedona - YouTube

Exactly why I have no lift or fancy suspension or enormous tires. I put AT tires on mine and some rock sliders and that's it. I put this thing through pretty rough sand, snow and rocks without doing much to it all. Not a daily driver, I mainly use it for camping, trails, and playing in the snow. That trail at 12:20 -13:40 is in Sedona. I've done that one with my stock size AT tires and stock suspension. The guys in this video didn't even air down and were on the stock street tires!

Everyone else seems to want to turn their 4Runner into some off road tank looking beast just to drive to work every day. Why? A stock SR5 can handle more than most owners will ever even dream of trying.

Finally watched the video. Looked like fun but 2 takeaways:

1). Get rid of stock tires for anything offroad.

2). Never buy a vehicle from a rental company.

Video pretty awesome in couple ways:
Beautiful scenery
Capabilities of a stock 4Runner ... pretty awesome!
Suspension .. lift .. tires .. rails .. lockers .. winch .. nahhhh.

"if you like this kind of stuff and you actually like travelling and seeing pretty things, and you don't think offroading is just for making yourself feel good about your tiny wiener and showing off, please watch"
from the end of the video, awesome

So much for tread lightly :( some of the crap (3:34 repeat laps?) is what gets places shut down around here now.

In western Colorado, where I go "off road", all the Jeep trails are old (very old) mining and logging roads put in over a hundred years ago. They are all numbered county roads, "maintained" by the various county governments. Thus, there is no damage beyond what was initially done when the roads were put in by the mining and logging companies.

Why? I'll tell you exactly why...

Cause its their vehicle to do what they want to, regardless of how you think or feel. No one gives two shïts if you like it or not. Freedom.. its fvckin great. Go suck an egg

Thirteen,
Thanks for putting me back to reality. I've had my 21 Venture for about a week now. It went from leveling the front with a spacer to new shocks / springs in that time. The thought of having the front literally apart and it needing aligned kept escalating the build. A few more part changes to go long travel. I purchased the 4runner as my DD not to make it into my former DD TJ. I do however want sliders and alum skids for peace of mind ...

You seem super angry and defensive. I said nothing about about how I think or feel about others' trucks. I asked a question. I asked why.

Looks like I found the guy who put 10k into mods to make his truck look like it's a badass monster truck off road warrior, when it's really for his wife to drive to the grocery store.

Because a little lift and some 33s makes a 5th gen look absolutly drop dead sexy while increasing its ability with very few drawbacks.
