Rented a 2004 4Runner from Hertz

When I went to pick up my 4Runner, the rear hatch would not operate by fob or with the key in the rear lock.

You have to reprogram that window if battery is disconnected, etc. by using the control on the dash. As I recall you raise and lower the window fully then walla, it works.

I also had to do this when I installed a new head unit.

It is mentioned in the manual somewhere...

Well, for some reason it worked and I did not have to reprogram the the computer when I disconnected the battery cable. i able took it off for 3 seconds.

I am positive it went down with the vehicle off with the Fob because my mom was right there when I did it and she was confused because before that I could not get the darn thing to open and then I was not able to get it back up.
