If you were going to paint it a color that was drastically different from the original, like white, or red, the paint job would look pretty half assed if the door jambs or engine bay didn't match.
With the colors being so close, I really don't think that it makes that big of a difference as long as you can get a decent paint job out of Maaco.
I'm saying this out of personal experience--my current 4runner was originally Imperial Jade Mica, and the previous owner had it painted Spruce Mica, a newer Toyota color that is probably further away from Imperial Jade than Evergreen is.
No, the door jambs don't match exactly, but you would really need to be looking for a flaw to notice. It's close enough where you wouldn't know the difference if you weren't looking for it.
As far as resale value, it had no negative effect on what I paid for mine, and I couldn't really beat him down on the price because it looked good. New paint on a 17 yr old truck really can add quite a bit in value, in my opinion.
If you're going for a show-quality rig, then by all means, get the engine bay and door jambs painted. If you're looking to refresh your rig without putting a lot of cash into it, a $600 Maaco job could do it for you, even if it isn't the original color.
That being said, the previous owner did all the prep work on his own, and did have to bring it back to Maaco three times to get a proper shoot, and the final product is not perfect by any means, but it's pretty damn good for $600-$700 bucks. I get a lot of compliments on it.
(I painted the fender flares myself, which is why you can see some orange peel in them haha)
