Repair Manual for 2014 4Runners

Hello,

Is there a "Repair Manual" out for the 2014 TE 4Runners yet?

I just picked up a 2014 TE 4Runner and I would like to remove the silver front bumper chin, silver rear bumper tail, and silver roof bars to get painted. Any thoughts on how to remove these would be appreciated.

There's a good tutorial in here (with pics) about how to remove the plastic caps at each end of your roof rails. I used the bent up corner of an old license plate (about 1/4"). If you can get a paint can opener at Lowe's or Home depot that would work also. You just work that in with the lip up between the plastic cap and the rubber gasket about 1/4 of the way forward from the end. Get it under the cap and pull carefully toward you (the catches can break). You can feel and see the catch come loose. When you get one loose, move toward the other end of the cap and repeat. After you get both catches loose you rotate the cap up and in toward the center of the roof. This will release the 2 inner catches and the cap will come off. This will expose the bolts that hold the rails to the roof. To reinstall the caps just push the inside on first then roll each over the rail and snap it down on the outside. They just pop back into place if the tabs are unharmed.

I don't have first hand knowledge on removing the front and rear faux skid bumpers, but I have eyeballed them with a flashlight. They look like they are attached with bolts and clips all around. You should be able to access them from underneath. But the upper ones would probably be easier to get at if you remove that upper filler piece between the radiator and the grill which is held in place with plastic rivets.

Someone already posted how to remove the silver bumper parts of the 2014's. Do a search for it, It should come up.

I've yet to see an offering from Haynes or Chiltons for a 5th gen 4 Runner. These manuals don't replace an FSM, but in my opinion they can be very useful.
