Repairing Door Window Frame

Removed some nasty 8+ year old vent visors this weekend. In the process, I managed to gouge out a piece of the plastic cover on the door frame. Any thoughts or ideas on repairing this? I have thought of everything from Testor's model paint, to Plati-Dip, to using clear nail polish to cover the bare metal.

On a related note, any tips on removing this %#$%##$ 3M tape from the doors?

The part that you scraped is a sticker (black out tape), you probably know that already. You can touch it up with the model paint you mentioned, most of that type of paint is an enamel and very resistant to weather. They also sell paint pens at hobby stores, they work great. I have a black one and a silver one for interior and exterior touch ups. The 3m double back tape that held your visors on can be removed with goof off, but be careful because I'm not sure what it'll do to the black out tape. If you plan on installing new vent visors you can do what I did and take a razor blade and kinda filet the tape off, a sliver at a time. Always using a sharp brand new blade. Or you could get lucky and roll it off with your thumb or finger, be careful though it'll give you a blister that way. All this advice stems from experience.
