Replacement coil options

So as many of you know I'm on the look out for a lift for my t4r. I was initially looking at LC coils for the rear and maybe ome 880 or 881 for the front with the ome shocks.

However, I heard that this will have major rake and it won't look leveled...
So I called around and went to a shop that specialized in land cruisers. They said they'll hold the next set of fzj80 coils they take off for a lift. But as of now they have a set of 2008 Fj front shocks and coils and a set of fabtechs that came off of a tacoma. Will any of that work for the 4runner?? If so, will it lift the front or the back? THanks

Any help out there?

I am itching to put together a lift and I want to have options when it comes down to looking for stuff. So far, LC coils for the rear is all I really know. Do FJ cruiser springs fit? Tundras? Tacomas?
 
So Tundra coils are an option? What year and which one (front or back)? I think i'm going to try and look for the shortest LC coils because even with that I'd still get 3" of lift right? 4.5" is a little much for me and I don't want to mess up any cv's etc.

Have you looked at this kit?

Both kits will level the vehicle out.
Just a thought.
 
I'm not an expert, but I did LC 8 wrap coils with LC rancho shocks for the longer travel in the rear. I did 881 coils with OME 90004 sport struts in the front with a 1 inch poly spacer. I now sit about an inch higher in the rear, but I kinda like it. The inner CV boot did leak some grease, but it didn't rip and a new clamp should fix that. I think it had more to do with the taller tire I put on than the strut, but that's just my opinion.

just like the guy above me said, you use a ome coil in the front with a spacer on top of it and it should sit very close to level with the lc coils in the rear.......

don't know how to explain it any simpler...let me know what's confusing and we will sort it out :smile:
 
I've been looking for a decent used set of OME coils for the front for a while and haven't come around any. I've also been looking for the TRD progressive springs from the 00-06 tundras. No luck. I already have Bilstein adjustable shocks waiting along with the 91 LC 9 wrap coils and Bilstein 5100s for that. Anyone know where to pick up TRD tundra coils or used OME 881, 882, or 883?

do you have the bilstein 5100 adjustable front shocks like these?

wanna trade ur LC coils for my 891s by chance? im looking for a little more height and ill nvr use the 891s to their full potential since they can hold much more weight then the LCs.

Mauzer thanks for the part numbers. I don't really have the cash to drop 120 for each coil at this point.

steeze, I do have those shocks. They currently have 99 TRD Tacoma coils on them already so I will have to swap that out with TRD tundra coils or maybe ome 881,882, or 883. Whatever I can get my hands on for a decent price.

skydivingdude, I don't plan on putting much weight in the rear and I'm hesitant to go with 891s for the rear because it's said to be stiff. The LC coils in my opinion will give me plenty height and maintain a comfortable close to stock ride. That's why I've been pretty committed to finding Tundra coils for the front. A hybrid-OEM lift. I did get your PM, and I am supposed to be picking up another set of LC coils that are 8 warps instead of 9 wraps, so when I do get them, I will let you know.

where is the C clip set? they are adjustable up to 2.5 inches of lift
 
It's at the lowest setting. Would maxing the strut out on the TRD tacoma springs be a good idea tho? I feel like it won't be a smooth ride.
