I'll quote myself since I did also the Key fob programmed today (2014 Trail).
The Smart Key is the easy one since is just one step, follow the movie above.
With the Key fob (for my 2014 Trail) first step do the movie above, but that's just half since will program only the wireless for the remote to open/close doors. This step will not start the car, you will need the step two:

The movie shows a Tundra, but is the same for our 4Runner.
Like I've said, the Smart Key for 2017 Limited I've bought it for $80 (was used, new is about $140) + 5 min to program.
The key fob for my 2014 Trail I've got it from Ebay, 2 keys for $20, but they don't have the logo with Toyota, they are not OEM keys.
The OEM key (uncut) is about $130-$140.
I've cut the keys at Home Depot, they didn't charge me anything, but I've heard is $2-$3 if you have the keys. Other locksmiths charge $5-$10 only to cut it, one guy told me over the phone that will charge me $50 only to cut one key.
Have fun and don't pay the dealer $$$ when you can do it by yourself.
