Replacing Both Front Fenders

I am going to be replacing both of my front fenders in the next couple days. I just hung them to dry. I got the pair new on rock auto. The old ones are just getting too rusty, and have been patched and repaired too many times.

I was wondering, for those of you who have replaced the 1st generation 4runner fenders if there were any tips or advice? Anything I should do in advance or be prepared for?

Thanks!

the front fenders are easy to remove and install. i did it several times in prepping my '87 to get on the road.

Okay thanks guys.

I live in a high road salt area, was worried about the lower bolts under the door. I have plenty of bolts if something goes snap.

I will most likely not drill a hole for the radio antenna (my fender is not pre drilled for it). I dont listen to the radio much anyway, mostly stream or mp3s. Rather not drill a hole into it.

I will let everyone know how it goes, and if the fit and finish is good.

As promised:

They fit pretty well. No alignment issues, just bolted right up. I got them from rock auto. I spray painted them with the closest match I could find, which is the rustoleum professional "aluminum" color.

My antenna range is definitely reduced but still works!

Looks great, nice work!

On Rock Auto's site they have a few different quality levels listed for their body parts, on the fenders they have "Economy" and "Regular" inventory listed, I was just wondering which one you used? Thanks.

Regular inventory I believe they were only a few bucks more. American comoany name on the box, but I believe made in tawain stickers on the fenders themselves. Everything lined up with ease though.
