Replacing Rear Camera - Stock Wiring

Good Afternoon Gents,

Per the title, I am looking to install a better rear camera in the STOCK location using the STOCK wiring. I recently installed a front camera and the visual clarity is a joke compared to the rear camera. For those thinking about lighting, specifically at night, I have already installed the Diode Dynamics Tail as Turn with upgraded LED lights (brightest they offer).

I have read several posts about the stock rear being 6V while many aftermarkets are 12V. I found this post;

HOW TO: Using the factory rear view camera with aftermarket stereo - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

but it talks about using the stock camera in an after market head unit.

I have also seen where the camera possibly spliced into 4 connects, but this was on a GX470. Link here; http://www.toyota-4runner.org/5th-g...up-camera-aftermarket-bumper.html#post1790090

I am not looking to rewire to the front, change out my head unit, or install a rear bumper at this time. Has anyone tackled this issue or will I have to rewire to the front no matter what?

Have you tried adjusting the brightness and contrast? I did that and it helped a lot in terms of picture quality. My brightness was too high and contrast was a bit low.

I have. However it doesn't change the clarity or sharpness of the video. I'll take pics tomorrow and upload so you can see the difference. It's pretty significant. Especially when compared to the $30 front camera from Amazon.
