resealing 3vze water outlet

How long should I wait to refill with coolant and run after putting sealant on the outlet covrr for the upper rad hose? Going to take the timing cover off the 3vze for visual inspection...

What did you use? If you used anything like RTV sealant, it will clearly state on the side what the cure time is. I recommend you wait that time.

Obviously for any seal to work it needs time to cure or harden to the seal. If you used RTV like silicone, it isn't long.

I sealed mine, bolted it down, filled it up and drove 280 miles. I think it was red atv... Probably a good idea to let it cure tho.

Ultra grey is just one of many types of silicon RTV that permatec makes. They make some designed to be in contact with oil, some that are designed to be in contact with coolant. All are similar and good quality. Never had a RTV gasket I made go bad. On the back it will clearly tell you the cure time. While you probably don't need to wait that long, why not?

I've never used sealant on rad hoses. Do you guys have trouble with leaks if you don't?

Not on the hose itself its on the outlet part that u unbolted/remove when u take the upper timing cover off

I had to take that piece off this weekend. I waited a whole 5 min before putting coolant in it (thats how long it took me to hook up the rest of the hoses)

And since you posted this yesterday... You should deff be good by now. haha.
