Very cool:bigok: Did the ID of the pipe through the resonator 'neck down' or is it pretty straight through (from a restriction stand point)?

Are you planning to add some length to the pipe or a side exit tip? You want to get the corrosive exhaust gases out away from the paint job.

nope, Im doing nothing, just leaving it as is, I wheel to much, and the tip, no matter where it come out, will get damaged, lol.

I was wondering if the resonator looked like it'd cause a good bit of restriction in the exhaust flow or if the resonator looked efficient and clean in terms of exhaust flow at high rpm.

oh, no not really, looked like it had VERY little if any, restrictions in the flow.

Based on the pictures - it looks like it does nothing at all. What did toyota include it for and what is it design purpose?

If I were you I'd have a muffler shop weld a tip out off to the side right behind the mudflap. That way your car doesn't look like it runs on epectricity lol.

if I welded on a tip on, it would just get smashed, so that would be a waist of time and money, being that I wheel every weekend, and the exhaust tip/resonator is always getting smashed, dented etc. I learned on my 99, even having it come out the side, right behind the mudflap, it WILL get smashed. thats why I cut it where i did, lol and NO, there are NO fumes at all, lol
this works best for me and what i do :bigok:
