reverse light switch-Auto to manual Swap

My 86 i purchased had the transmission swapped before i purchased it. One thing i never checked was the reverse lights. Well low and behold it needs to get inspected before i can get a title on it due to age and being from out of state. I went through all the items for NC..Brakes, tires, blinkers, wipers..then got to reverse lights...and nothing.

I looked at the transmission and the sensor is there on the passenger side, just no wiring going to it.
My question is, does anyone have experience with this? I searched the thread and saw a few things but wasn't really comfortable with the answers.

Do I have to jumped it onto a harness in the cabin from the auto transmission, or does it go to a plug in the engine compartment? Thanks!

So I assume the Blue circled part was the reverse switch. What is the red circled item?

Also, was there a switch between the 1985 and the 1986.
I looked under the 1986 and the red circled part is on the drivers side (NOT on the passenger side like in the photo)..

Not to get too off topic because I would really liked to know where to jump these two sensors to in the engine compartment...but...

*Next comment is coming from someone that has little experience messing with transmissions*

Is there any possibility that the clutch housing and transmission case are upside down? That would cause the back up light switch to be on the passenger side and not the drivers side. I can't imagine Toyota would do something like that, but I don't get why mine doesn't match the FSM.

First off, you don't need reverse lights to pass NC inspection.

That looks like a G52 which I think has the reverse switch on the driver's side.

The blue circle looks to be the 4wd indicator switch.
