Back in November I retrofitted the e-locker into my 01 Runner. I wanted a wiring kit that was completely independent of the vehicle's systems. I looked to 12voltguy.com.
This guy got it right. Keep it simple. Simple website interface, simple product, easy transaction.
I opted for the single switch for the locker- it came with steel plate with a protected switch that reads 'E-LOCKER' and an LED- next to which is etched 'LOCKED' into the metal plate. It also included a 15 foot harness that ran from the switch all the way to the locker actuator, and connected using the OEM connectors. Simply plug'n'play.
After the first wheeling trip, I had submerged my truck in some pretty deep water and the locker stopped working. I found the boots pulled out of the back of the connector and a nice green chia pet of corrosion.
I attempted to repair the connector myself, only to find that the corrosion was irreverseable- all the pins have cracked and fallen out.
I e-mailed him, telling him all about the situation and actually looking to buy a replacement harness and here's his reply:
"I stand behind my stuff. I will send you a replacement harness...VERY SORRY...I will get that made & shipped out tomorrow...you will see it in 2-3 days."
No questions asked, I recieved my package with new (and improved) harness. The 12voltguy is truly a stand-up guy, and I am hereby formally recommending him to anyone looking for any kind of wire harness, switch panel or anything 12 volts.
