REVIEW: TRD Tundra Lift VS OME

Explain this for a newb?

TRD = Front coils off a Tundra TRD edition, progressive spring, give you some lift and a decent ride. These replace the front coils on the 4runner (Only certain years had these)

LC Wrap = Front coils of a 80 series Land Cruiser that replace the rear springs on the 4runner. These range from 7 to 9 wraps (number of coils on the springs) giving various degrees of lift usually reported from 3" to 5"

Billys = Bilstein 5100 shocks/struts. Some use the tundra models, some use the 4runner models. They're valved differently and the tundras have 5 perches for adjustibility and the 4runner models only have 3.

For all practical purposes, the tundra bilsteins only have 3 useable perches. The top two would cause extreme cv angles and really aren't functional. Only 1,2, and 3 are useable with 3 rd gens

Do you still run the 891s in the rear? Do they effect the ride at all?

Approx height is 23" in front and 24.5" in rear, measuring center of hub to fender edge. About 100lbs in the cargo right now and full tank of fuel... Full load with fridge and camping gear and water (600lbs plus 2 passengers?), the rear settles about even with the front. I'm probably going to add some airbags just help dampen when going quick offroad with load.

What were your measurements before??

And let me ask you guys this, why do some say do not use a top spacer and instead move up to the second perch. Then, some say do not go to second perch, instead use a top spacer? Which is better or what is the advantages??

OME does make good springs though.

890s with a softer shock is very cush.
