RG79's SR5 Build Thread

you will love these sliders!
They look like a million bucks! The wife finds them very functional and I have yet to test their strength off road, but I'm sure they will be fine.

Just a side note, you don't have to get them with "gussets" on all 4 arms. I only did that because of my XREAS lines.

Can't wait to see some photos with them on

I will definitely will post some pics once I get em on unfortunately, that wont be for a while they said at least three months out.....

They are the only ones I know that make these kind of sliders. Super functional.. Can't stop raving

Yes, we mainly sell security type products but, we also sell DVD Systems, Navigation Systems, back up cameras/sensors and the ocasional audio upgrade ie: subwoofer systems, ect....

My 4RUNNER is TOTALED!!!!!

I was involved in an accident over New Years weekend out at Superstition. I was putting my new Icon suspension through a beating and it held up flawlessly. I can't say enough how impressed I am with their suspension systems. I was able to go 50 mph over whoop roads smooth as glass.

Anyway we went out for a night run and we rolled her over on the driverside. I will never off road at night again there is so much you cant see that you would be able to during the day. The body damage is very minimal but while on it's side all the oil ran out and the motor seized up once started(hydro-locked). My insurance company totaled the vehicle out due to a new engine costing 17k. I just bought a brand new 2014 which most of my stuff will be going on. I was able to take off all of my upgrades from my 2011. I am super bummed but, excited to have a new one.

The aftermath

The other side was untouched

and here is the new one

I will be selling some things from my black one and will post later for those who are interested. I'm defintely selling my 30" baja designs light bar with custom wire harness and switches.

Anyway onward and upward.......

Now I'm curious to see if that light bar will fit behind the '14 grille, since it seems like it's a little narrower at the bottom compared the 10-13 grill. If it doesn't fit do you plan on selling it?

Yes, TOTALED unfortunately the motor is toast. New one is 17k insurance said pass. Also curtain airbags went off that alone is 6k

Sorry about your wreck.....But excited to see what you do with that 2014!
Thanks, I am also excited to see how the new one looks with my suspension on there. Still a bummer tho countless hours on my 11

Light bar is for sale along with custom rocker switches/harness

Glad you're okay --- man does that suck. Not trying to be an ass, but do you think more light would have helped?

On a separate note, why made you decide to go with the Omega bypasses in the rear? Can you feel the difference?

How did it go with your insurance since you rolled it and totaled it off roading? Was it difficult to get them to do anything? At least it worked out for you and nobody was hurt.

The Icon Omega bypass shocks are a night and day difference from my bilsteins. Like I said in an earlier post I was blown away on how well the performed off road. The ride on road is great as well just adjust them all the way soft and there super soft. Can't wait to put em on my new 14..........

Finally getting around to mods on the 14

The first thing I wanted to do is get my stereo switched over to the new 4Runner. I used all the equipment out of my 2011 except the boston acoustic speakers. I elected to go with the JL Audio C5 line.

I used the C5-653 3-ways for the front doors/dash. I put the 6 3/4" woofers in the door, then mounted the 4" midrange in the factory location on the dash. The tweeters were mounted on the A pillars.

I then just used the C5-650's for the rear doors and the C5-650x's for the rear hatch

These JL Speakers are very "High End" so I wanted to make sure I did a "High End" install. So I used a ton of sound deadening material. Here is a pic of the rear hatch with the C5-650x's I had to build a custom mount for the X overs. and the rear drivers side door. All doors are covered like this along with the inside of the door.

I also mounted my Alpine 8" Navi back into this one along with the JL amps. I still havent mounted my custom sub box yet but, I'm using a 10W3 high output box for the meantime.

I still have all my ICON shocks and everything else that will be put on soon. I have a brand new pair of Shrockworks sliders that I am not going to use on this one. I bought them before I rolled my 2011

Anyway Stay tuned for updates it should turn out pretty sick!

Hello

When I rolled and totaled my 11 T4R I pulled off everything. It took me over a year but I finally got some stuff put back on my 14 T4R. That includes:

Icon coilovers w/cdcv
Icon UCA's
Icon Omega bypass rear shocks
TRD wheels
Nitto TG 295/70/17

I also already posted the full stereo I did and I also did a full security system along with DVD headrest.

Here is a pic for now but, I will post some more later.

I am in the process of switching out my wheels and tires. I think I am going to go with Method nv wheels and I want to try and stick with 295 size tires. For some reason the 295's rub on my 14 where they didnt on my 11 bummer.

What would the cost of you doing the stereo to say my truck? I want to upgrade it but don't know a thing about stereo equipment.

I do know that I want a Pioneer 8100-NEX.

Would you be up to something like that? Just asking.

The cost could be as much or as little as you want depending on how crazy you want to go. We definitely could help you with an install I own a shop down here in San Diego we mainly specialize in Dealer work but we could help you out. I am just not sure if you would want to make the journey down from NorCal.....
