**Rickashay's OME vs. TRD Tundra/LC Review**

Hey Rickshay, Do you mind explaining the "bushing press"? I knew well enough ahead of time to order the extra 3/4" bushings, but didn't realize it would take a special tool to install them.

I was just referring to a simple press, Im not really sure if there is an appropriate name for it other than that. Really, it just makes installed and removing bushings easier but you can do it yourself, easily enough, with a vice. Use the vice to push a socket through the lower shock's mounting point. This will force the old bushing out...

Any further updates on your rear shock selection? I'm looking at getting the rear shocks for the lift and can't quite decide on Bilsteins vs Landcruiser Tokicos as you mention. I do lots of road driving, but load up with lots of camping gear when I go out.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Can you edit & include the price differences if you have that information? I assume the Toyota parts are more expensive.

This is basically the same as a Sonoran Steel 1.2 setup.

I'm going to go and update the first post after I write this. I look forward ot your opinions when you get your Tokico's on!

Yah, I'll dig up all the prices and include them in the first post.

rickashay, do you have any photos now that the rear has had time to settle? Has it settled?

It has settled at this point. I've been meaning to take some recent side shots and get new hub-to-fender measurements but just keep forgetting. I'll put it on the to-do list for this week!

Do it! I will be here waiting until you do.

Never thought I would want a lift, thought it was "stupid". Have now spent too much time on here.

Ride still excellent?

The reason I am asking is I am looking to get LX450 in back and TRD in front, want to make sure it wont be too tall in the back. Anyone know how much lift the LX450 will actually give? (Yes, I have read them lift facts. Searching gives conflicting results.)

And I want to see your rig, of course. :)

I am also doing the TRD in the front, once I find the parts. But I have seen a few guys do the OME 906 or 890 and that looks really good. Plus its not too high, which I have seen some examples of with the LC coils. If you've done as much looking around as me, I'm sure you've seen some of the pics. Just thought I give you another idea...

Don't quote me on this, but Im pretty sure the LX450 ones are usually 9-wraps and thus the tallest. Also, I think the LX450 springs are supposes to have the lowest spring weight because they wanted the Lexus to have a smoother ride than the LC. Might be something to consider depending on how much weight you haul in your truck. With the 9 wraps you will definitely have to go on the middle spring perch (assuming you go 5100's...) up front or it will have crazy rake.

I'll get pics up of mine by this afternoon.

After reading many threads, that was my conclusion as well. I don't think I want that much rake.

Finding TRD coils is a pain. So far I have been able to do things cheaply (TBU from the junkyard, etc), this however could get expensive fast.

BUMP for added pics showing settled rake and new hub to wheel well measurements. Only settled 1/4" I thought it would have been more. But as I posted in the original thread if you pulled the rubber 4runner internal bumpstops on the rear coils it would site with about an inch of rake.

Sorry, I didn't look there. I wanted to pictures and I wanted them NOW. So I went to your build thread.

Just buying the tundra coils seems like the most viable option.

Im about to do a hybrid lift on my truck. I like the rake but I want more than the 2.5" up front.

Im going to run OME 881's with Sonoran Steels Steel sleeve/spacer with the OME 90004 shocks. Steve says this corrects the droop on the front OME springs that you normally have with the toytec spacer and will give a save lift without premature cv and ball joint failure that Ive noticed OME setups can cause.

Im going to run new 7.5 wrap LC coils in the rear with new LC tokico shocks. This should give me 3.5" rear and 3" front with a good safe ride. I cant wait to get it all installed and will post pics. Also going to run stock panheard bar till I can get the adjustable one. I heard the drop kit does actually nothing really since you need to adjust is out not move the mounting point lower.

rickashay, if you had told DSMS that you wanted the 0.75 bushings, would they have pressed them in for you for free?
