It's funny you say that... I have the Toytec 2" level kit (lifts front only) and am doing my best to wear down my stock Yokohama's so I can replace them with (probably) the Cooper Zeon LTZ 275/60-20. They are a full 33" tire and no one has yet to try and fit them with only a mild front leveling kit... I was worried about rubbing. But the more I look, the more confident I feel they will fit (with some mild remolding - see Harper's fender liner mod - necessary). :bigok:

How does one go about "remolding the inner fenders with a heat gun?"
 
Determine where the tire rubs against the liner, then take a heat gun to that spot and push it in with something heat resistant. Hold it there for a few seconds until it cools enough to hold its shape. Repeat as necessary. I did it to avoid cutting the liners. Most of my reshaping was done to the front portion of the liner.

I'm pretty sure it can be done with a good amount of cutting and trimming. When I was remolding my fenders it looked like it could work. I'm just not sure I want to cut up a $50k truck so soon.

I did trim my husky guards to clear these tires. I was stuck between 275/55's and 285/55's for a long time. I ended up going with the 275/55's because I didn't want to cut up the liners too much since the truck is so new. Once these tires wear out though I will be going bigger.

That's exactly how I did mine. I used the head of a hammer to remold and hold the liners into their new shape.

I've been on the fence about what wheels I want for a while now, reading all of the debate over 17" vs 20" and pretty much had myself convinced that I was gonna go with 17" Mojaves. Now I know exactly what I want. Come on tax return! :banana:
 
Nice work, the truck looks awesome!

In hindsight I wish I had gotten a limited and done something like this instead of the Trail that I got.

Did you find yourself not being offroad as much as you'd thought? That's pretty much why I ended up with the LE. I went into the dealership wanting a TE but left with a LE because I knew I would not be able to get to the trails as often as i'd like. I'm still going to take it out and see how this thing does as it's still going to be pretty capable of having a lot of fun out there.

I do love the comforts of the LE.

Nice truck. Check out toyota120 a lot of bay area guys are on it and set up runs to Hollister which would be a good place to get your feet wet or dirty. We are trying to put together a run soon but no one can choose a date.

My wife doesn't like driving the Trail, especially with the lift (she's 5'4"). And with 3 kids the 3rd row seat would have been handy, even with it's limited space. All the little conveniences would have been nice too - push start, smart keys, nav, etc.

I haven't really had a chance to offroad as much as I would have liked either. At this point I'm seriously considering switching to a Limited or moving up to a Sequoia.
