I'm only a few weeks into owning this thing and am absolutely obsessed with it. This is my build thread to document all the mods on the "Zombie Crusher". I jokingly called it that one night and it stuck. The wife gives me **** about it all the time.

My wife and I bought the truck fully stock with 9 miles and have managed to put on 1400 miles in about 4 weeks. I'm nuts about this thing. It also doesn't help to have an awesome forum like T4R inspire me to mod the hell out of it. I've never been one to leave any of my toys alone.

Here are the mods i've done in order from when I first picked up the truck.

v.1 - 1/2/2012-2/11/2012
Kragen rubber antenna- The stock one annoyed the hell out of me and I had to get rid of that thing. Wasn't too into the super shorty stubs either.
Wade In-channel window visors- These make a little bit of wind noise on the freeway but not enough to be annoying.
aFe CAI- I love this thing! It's quiet and mundane enough for normal driving but when you need to get on it, IT'S ON! I highly recommend it.
Husky Liners- Front, rear and trunk. Will save your floors from the crap that's outside.
Husky mud guards- Front and Rear. They fit perfect and look awesome.
nFab Wheel to Wheel nerf bar- These are made for the TE but with the help of T4R members I fab'd up some spacers to get them to clear the rocker panels on the LE's and SR5's. I am now putting together some spacer kits for other members with SR5's and LE's. Contact me for a set.
AVS Aeroskin hood protector- I love how stealth looking and functional this piece is.
XD Addict 20"x9" -12 wheels | Nitto Terra Grappler 275/55-20- These changed the entire look of the truck and is definitely my favorite mod yet. The stance looks perfect IMO. The truck drives so much better with this setup without any road noise from the Terra's. Yes it did rub a little but I just took a heat gun and remolded the fender wells in a couple spots. No rubbing at all.

I've got a ton more planned for this truck. I'm currently working on a FXR Bi-Xenon projector setup into some trail headlights. These should be done in a couple weeks. I will be starting a GB for a plug and play Projector setup for all 5th gens once my set is done.

I am a noob at offroading but do want to get into it. I want to check out some of the easier trails in the bay area soon.

Any issues with the ladder and the K9 2.2? Was reading that the rack was to long and came in contact at full opening of the rear hatch.

[MENTION=136231]Hvac88[/MENTION] - Yes you will rub with the 295/65-18 if you do not have a BMC. You will need to to do some trimming and molding to get those sizes to fit and of course a lift.
[MENTION=131404]96706RROMJP[/MENTION] - Which wheels are you reffering to? Both were XD Addicts. The first set i had was the 20x9" -12 offset with 275/50-20 Nitto Terra grappler. The second set was 18x9" -12 with 295/65-18 Duratracs.
[MENTION=96750]mfregeau20[/MENTION] - Yes the gobi ladder does touch the K9 rack. The rack interferes with the right bar support of the ladder. I can raise it enough so I don't hit my head on the hatch so i never bothered with trying to remedy it. I'm 5'8".

I should have my winch and Factor 55 components installed by Monday night. I'll get pics up of that. I went with the Warn M8000s with Factor 55 Flatlink and Factor 55 1.5 fairlead. Huge thanks to Factor 55 for hopping on board as my newest sponsor.

I like to see the progression on this truck. I have a '94 80 series Land Cruiser, and while I love it, the weight of the thing is what is driving me towards a new 5th Gen. Steel front and rear bumpers, full skids, drawer system, fridge, RTT, it all adds up. Heavy truck to start with.

I love seeing how you put this on a diet and you said it feels like a new truck. I either need to put my LC on a diet, or pull the trigger on a 5th Gen, and keep the build lightweight and simple this time around.

Are you still a fan of the K9 rack?

I am really really happy with the newest transformation of my rig. The weight loss proved to be a really good decision. The truck just drives and responds a lot better after all that weight was reduced.

As far as the K9 goes, I absolutely love the rack. I prefer it over the Gobi that I had. I like the super flat platform. It makes for loading plywood sheets super easy. I also love the look of it and of course the lighter weight.

Finally found some time to get my Winch installed. I went with the Warn M8000s because its Warn and I got a killer deal on it. Huge thanks to Factor 55 for the closed system winching parts. They sent over their 1.5" fairlead, Flatlink and Hitchlink in Safety Yellow. Super stoked to be part of the Factor 55 team.

Also big shouts to 503motoring in Beaverton, OR for the install. Those guys do some great work and am stoked that [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION] got me hooked up with them.

After years without a winch I finally feel safer going out and getting into deeper trouble by myself. Here are some awesome pics taken by [MENTION=124732]LawnDart[/MENTION].

I still have a bunch more things to do to the rig. It's been a 4 year build so far and loving every minute of it.

Picked up a Rigid E2 28" Combo/Hyperspot to replace my 20" cheap chinese LED bar up front. Stoked about the 14,720 glorius raw lumens that will light up an entire mile. Very very happy right now.

When you installed the rack did you need to do any extra work for installing the rails that is not listed in the install instructions? Trimming or extra shimming? Just received mine and plan to install Saturday morning.

No extra work is necessary. My only recommendation would be to bend the rails to follow the contour of the roof before installing the rails. It makes the rack more even with the roof.

Love your rig! Really interested in adding an RTT to mine. Wondering how you chose your RTT? Size? or anything else? Also do you prefer the K9 rack over the Gobi with the RTT. I was leaning towards Gobi but now thinking the flat surface may be better with a tent but I really have no idea how easy the tent is to use? How easy is it to remove the tent from the truck?
Also love the budbuilt sliders! Did you have the angle of them changes at all?
Have you done anything since you removed the rocker panals and installed the sliders or has it been ok. Thanks for the help.

I didn't choose the size of the RTT i got. I bought it because it was local and it was a ridiculous deal. I had no intentions of getting a RTT. I pickup up a Eezi-Awn 1800 for a steal and kind of built things around that. As soon as I got the tent I sold my Gobi and bought a Eezi-Awn K9 rack. The RTT is really easy to install and remove. All it is is 4 bolts. The Eezi-Awn system is incredbily strong and easy to use. I'm very happy with the wider surface of the K9 rack as oppose to the Gobi I had before. Check out Equipt1.com for more info about Eezi-Awn products.

I love the Budbuilt sliders. I've had them for almost 4 years now and no complaints at all. I went with the regular bump out sliders with full tread. I did not mess with the angle of them. That's how they were built.

I havent done anything with the rocker panels. They have been fine. No leaks or anything like that. I eventually will get some 2014 rocker panels to cover them up once I get over the fact that its gonna be about $450 for parts alone. hwell:
