those are some sick light bars you fellas are sporting. but i don't imagine that fairing is really doing much for your wind resistance when it's perched way up there, though. ideally you want it out in front and in contact with the roof to direct air up and over the rack and roofline...

Danny- I think i'm just going to take off the rocker panels and deal with the look. My truck is black so it's not going to be very noticeable. I've seen some pics of other member's setup when taking of the rocker panel and it doesn't look to bad when the truck is black. I may also buy Shrockworks' rocker panel replacement, if it really bugs me that much, when they become available.

Regarding the fairing I plan running the fairing as it should and maybe cutting up the top of the fairing to fit the light bar. I do want the fairing to make contact with the roof to keep the benefits of having it.

I just finished a TRS FX-R Bi-xenon projector install on the truck. I love the look, fit and finish of it thus far. The install took me about 3 hours total and was pretty simple. I didn't perform the actual projector install. I sent my headlights to TRS for them to take care of that part. All I did was swap the headlights and wire everything up. The headlights I used were the smoked TE version from eBay.
Here are some install pics. I will be putting together a small "how to" but the install is pretty straight forward once you get under the hood.

Are you sure it looks cheesy or are you just afraid to cut into your new truck? Mine are trimmed and there is no way someone who doesn't know 5th gen could tell that they are. IMHO installing a slider with stock sr5/LE trim kills at least an inch or two of ground clearance and in offroading an inch makes a huge difference.

I have experienced the fairing both ways. I wasn't fond of the fairing laying against the paint. It also directed the wind directly into the front bars of the GOBI.
So far, it's been the quietest where I have it mounted. It's no different than the Baja rack set up. Or Yakima or Thule, for that matter.
Ride, I'd be interested to see how you would mount the fairing under the light that's under the rack. There would definitely be some ingenuity there.
IMO, if you're gonna mount the lights above the fairing, you might as well mount them in the intended location from GOBI.

Got some new pics of the retrofitted HID headlights. This should have been a standard feature on all 5th gens. Projectors with HID's IMO are a must. It completely changes the look and feel of the truck when driving. This is the second best thing I've done to the truck so far. I really like the look of a legit HID projector cutoff.

1. Driver side- 25 feet away from the wall
2. Driver seat view, Low beam's only on completely pitch black street.
3. Same view as 4 but zoomed in.
Ducmonsta- I'm definitely going to have to play around with the setup once the rack arrives. It shouldn't be too difficult to fab some brackets for it. Do you have any new pics since you lowered your fairing?

SOcal- Thanks man! The retrofit was done by Andrew over at The Retrofit Source. I bought some eBay TE style headlights and sent them over to TRS so they could install the projectors in the headlights. All parts used are the parts offered in the Group Buy I am putting together.
Specs on my kit are as follow:
FX-R Bi-xenon Projector's
E46 extended shrouds
5000k Morimoto bulbs
35w Morimoto Ballasts
I love the look and output of the headlights. Definitely worth the amount I paid for them. If you're interested, check out the Group Buy. It's a sticky at the top. It's a very affordable setup and is definitely worth the money.

Got the new wheels and tires put on today. I sized down from 20's to 18's. I did this mainly to gain more sidewall for offroading. From the driving I did today the Duratrac's feel pretty good. I can see why people love the look and feel of these. They look like an MT and are just a tad bit louder then an AT. You can only hear a slight buzz on the freeway if your radio is completely turned off. Definitely not annoying at all.
I decided to go with 18's because I really wanted to run the 295/65-18 Duratrac's which are a true 33" tire. I also liked the look of the wider tire. I'll deal with the minimal loss in gas mileage.
I will see how well they do at Hollister this weekend but from the rave reviews this tire's been getting I don't see any problems arising. I also took off my nFab's and rocker panels earlier tonight in preparation for this weekend. I will be selling the nFab's and wheels. On to the pics..

dang.. I love this truck.
question, though..3rd pic in the last set makes it look like the n-fab is set at slightly different distances from the body - front is a little further from the skirt than the rear. was that idea or something went wrong during the install / something was hit?
out of pure curiosity (and completely off topic) are these taken with a CPL?
