Runnie is my daily driver, but I also take it offroad on the weekends. I figured its about time I started one.

Front: Tundra offroad package coils, 5100 bilstiens, and Sonoran Steel Diff Drop Kit
Rear: OME 861 coils, 5125 bilstiens with bolt to eye adapter, and Sonoran Steel Adjustable Panhard Bar

Also made some arm mounts. Now all I have to do is clean them up and weld them on.

Did the rear diff breather mod tonight.

I know its not a mod, but I also replaced the driver side tailight.

I was trying to sneak around my buddy who had gotten stuck and ended up hip checking his running board.

Unfortunately no. My buddy who was supposed to stick weld it on to the runner bailed on me because of his gf. So now the quickest way for me to get them on is for me to learn to stick weld vertical and overhead and just do it myself. And that didn't happen this weekend because I went skiing at copper instead.

Like, looks good. Are you planning on doing anything on the top surface, grip tape maybe, to make them usable as a step too? Either way, good work.

Well, now that my semester is over I have time to work on the runner again!

Installed a cb in my ashtray. It sounds good, but its a little quite. I am thinking about installing an external speaker for it. Has anyone done this? Also where did people put their mic hanger? I'm not sure where to mount mine.

Also got some Lotus Development RCAMS installed.

Next: Installing the lift. I got impatient and decided to start buying parts awhile ago and went with bilstien for shocks and for coils TRD tundra w/ the offroad package and ome 861s in the back.

Got the runner lifted this monday!

Front: Tundra offroad package coils, 5100 bilstiens, and Sonoran Steel Diff Drop Kit
Rear: OME 861 coils, 5125 bilstiens with bolt to eye adapter, and Sonoran Steel Adjustable Panhard Bar

Got it aligned and the shop said I needed new rack and pinion bushing. Quoted me just over 200$ for them to replace the bushings. Needless to say I said no and just bought the 16$ Energy Suspension Kit. I will be doing that my self since it really shouldn't be that hard.

New and stock assembled front shock/coil

Rear Stock and OME 861 Coils

Rear 5125 Bilstiens that I picked up from Toytec. Don't have a comparison of the rear shock because I cut it up after giving up trying to wrench it out (took a little frustration out with the cutoff wheel).

Stud to eye kit for the rear shock. The nice thing about this is that if I ever have to replace the rear shocks, I never have to go back up into the cubby hole to unscrew that bas**** bolt again.

So, that's what I'd look like lifted. Are those stock size tires (I hope I didn't miss that earlier)?

looks good man! i lifted mine a few weeks ago too. those sliders are gnarly! how much would you charge to help me weld some up?

and those bushings are pretty easy, i can give you a hand with those if you want... took like an hour or so

The tires are 265/75 on 16s.


Your welcome to come over and I can help ya make them. I've got a stick welder at the house and there is a mig at school that we might be able to use. The stick welds won't look as pretty but they'll hold up well enough. I think the metal was about 160$ from Dencol. You can get the to cut it to length from them, I think they charge like 8$ a cut. As for my costs to you...maybe a sixer. :cheers:

awesome! :reddance: thanks. i was thinking a little after the holidays(after a few things i.e. valve cover gasket, plugs, wires, ect). i was even gonna pick up a cheap harbor freight mig welder (with the extended warranty for those who are gonna bash on me) because i think having basic welding skills is a must for the things we do, and i have no welding experience.

and let me know if you ever need a hand with any mods or repairs, i run out of things to do :lol:

If you have the money, migs are the way to go. Idk about different models so can't help ya there. I'm by no means an expert welder, but its not too hard to learn the basics. Most of it is having arc time. Just let me know.

Apparently I've been a little naughty this year. I woke up early today to change out my rack and pinion bushings before anyone else was up. Looks like I need a new boot a new boot.
