Rim trade advice needed. 16' 5 Spoke for 17' Tundra

I am talking with somebody right now about making a trade for his Tundra 5 Split 5 Spoke Wheels.

I am currently running on an 01 with the 5 spoke 265/70/ R16.
2001 TOYOTA 4RUNNER ALLOY WHEEL, 5 SPOKE Wheels, Rims, Hubcaps

Here are my questions.

Is there a backspacing issue? If I am not mistaken they should bolt right up and they are the same.

He wants to downgrade from a 17' to a 16'. Why would somebody want to do this?

Are the tire sizes the exact same? I believe they are.

What would be a fair asking price for his?

What would be a fair asking price for mine?

I believe the trade should be pretty close to straight up but then throw in a little extra cash on my end. He is asking $380 for the set. They look a little rashed. Mine is are perfect condition. I would have to check them out in person to see for sure. I don't have any worries about moving my 5 Stars, they are pretty darn popular but I really like the Split 5 Spokes.

I would appreciate your advice!

BTW - I don't plan on doing offroading, trail riding at the most.

First let you friend know that 16" rims may not fit over the brake calipers, the price is ok but if they are rashed lower.

I already told him about that. He knows and 16' will fit over his brakes. Here are the rims.

I am thinking about staying with my 16'. I am not a big fan of the curb rash look so I would rather have the smaller rims without the rash.

personally I would buy them and repaint.

If you wheel then the smaller wheel will give you a taller sidewall. The taller the sidewall, the lower air pressure you can go with less chance of popping a bead. the lower the pressure the better the ride and the better traction. Even if you don't air down much the taller sidewall will absorb more.
