Rim weight

I'm trying to get an idea of the weight of different rim options, preferably 17" rims so I don't have to get new tires as well.

I tried searching, but the site's search function seems to be a little buggy. Most of the results just direct you back to the main forum index.

So here's what I'm looking for:

OEM 17" SR5 rim weight:
OEM 17" Sport Edition rim weight: ~25lbs (Thanks D_clark!)
OEM 17" FJ rim weight:

My ultimate goal is to find some lighter rims that will still hold up to some offroading. Aesthetics are a fairly minor concern.

Revived! I still would like to know this also, especially the stock 17" sr5 wheel weight. Stock sizing including BS and offset would be great too!

for stock sizing that equals 17"x7.5" and the backspacing = 5"
(this equates to a negative 2.5" offset meaning the center of the rim is 2.5 inches behind the hub face)

I'd like to be able to tell you how much the stock rims weighs but i wouldnt have the first clue unless i actually put one on the scales. However I will say Most after market wheels (other than steel wheels) are made of Aluminum alloys which are much lighter and stronger than factory Machined cast aluminum wheels.

maybe if you try calling them wheels instead of "rims" you would get actual results from searching.

 I've thought the same thing. It sucks having to do the search twice, one with what you are searching for, and another with the slang term for it. I didn't find anything either way.

Can't say about the backspacing, but when I sold my Stock 17" Sport wheels, the boxes weighed in at 30 pounds. I figured around 4-5 pounds of packaging. I would estimate the wheel itself to be around 24-25 pounds each.

Added this info to the first post.

Thats pretty light. Most aftermarket wheels I've looked at range between 26 and 30, I'd rather stay as light as I can to make up for a little heavier tire.
