Yay for saturdays, so productive.

I got the shipping conformation on my bumper and sliders the other day. Should be here soon!
In preparation for moab, I am taking care of a few maintenance items.
I have ordered the following things:
-New radiator (going to run the trans cooler in series with the radiator. Need extra cooling in the summer with the S/C)
-170* Thermostat. The stock unit is 180*, so this will help me keep my temps down. I have been running in the high 190's for 6 months, gotta get that down before summer. I am going to run a 60/40 combo of distilled water and coolant, with a bottle of Redline's "Water wetter". That combined with the cooler thermostat should help me keep the temps down quite a bit!
-Piaa ATP lights for the bumper. I choose the All terrain pattern becuase I am going to try to keep my stock fogs somehow. Otherwise I would have gotten a fog pattern.
-Tridon ep35 flasher relay- To work with the LED flashers in the new bumper.
Changed the oil and got a few parts from the dealer. Added a bottle of Marvel mystery oil to help keep it all clean.
From the dealer I got a new hood prop clip, interior retainer clips, and a new supercharger belt.
The old one was broken and barely held the prop.
Have been missing that clip for months!

Nice choice on the Mobile 1. It seems like quite a few of us on the forum are running Mobile 1. But with over 100k wouldnt you use the high mileage synthetic? Though Im guessing there really isnt much difference between the regular and high mileage

I can't wait to see it with the bumper and sliders! Good call on ordering the bumper without hoops, I think they look really cool without them. Do you have any paint/powder coating plans for the bumper and sliders?

I was so darn sure to follow every update on your thread, but somewhere along the lines I missed out on the part where you mentioned what bumper and sliders you were gonna get.:hiding: Now everybody seems to know and I feel way behind......So what are they again?

None of the stores nearby had any, wasnt gonna drive across town to get some. So regular it was.
I'll just rattle can it temporarily before moab. Its useless to get it all nice before a big trip like that, ill just destroy the coat. But after I get back I'm gonna bedliner it.
Thanks! Now I can be in the bumper club too, I felt so left out lol.
I worked on that box a little today too, but not enough to write about.
Its 4xinnovations, I never really mentioned it for one reason. I was going back and forth on if it was even a good choice of bumper after I ordered. Nearly canceled the order at one point. Mainly becuase of that crash thread on IH8mud.
But after some though, I came to the conclusion that I actually prefer a bumper that will crush on impact. Similar to how the ARBs have that build in crush zone. I would be nervous running a bumper as stout as the Shrockworks simply becuase if I were in a wreck that was bad enough. The weaker bumper would just crunch up and need a new bumper and in turn save the truck, but a strong bumper would transfer that impact to the frame and everything else which may end up totaling the vehicle due to bent frame and ruined body mounts and stuff. Scary thought.
I actually feel safer with the 4xinnovations bumper over the shrockworks. I just hope I won't find out I was wrong in the future..

Awesome! I wondered when you were going to get a bumper and sliders on this thing. Nice maintenance work as well.
I vote body color for the bumper! For two reasons: 1) it looks pretty awesome on RockSlide's truck, and he has a bumper I don't even like and 2) I'm contemplating the same question for my truck.....so I'd have a good reference.
I really really wish my 4Runner fund wasn't residing at $0. Everyone is doing all this stuff to their rigs, and I'm starting to get frustrated with doing nothing to mine. lol

I will have to look more into it. I had just assumed I would go black, my color scheme has been black&grey. But you are right quicksilvr, rock slide's truck does look good with that body color bumper and I do like that TJM too..
Ill mess around with it in photoshop after I get the bumper on, maybe post a poll with some sample pictures or something..

(he works at addicted and has a color matched addicted bumper)
Mhmm.. Mechanical.
Its Diff Eq. test prep tonight. maybe ill tackle that cargo box.. thursday. I hope so.
