I totally concur with Brian757, your write-ups and comments have been inspirational to alot of us. Your build was actually a work of ART! The love and dedication you displayed to your 4Runner is awe-inspiring! I whole-heartedly wish you luck on your next project, (Hopefully you'll stick to Toyota---) maybe a TACO!!! and/or a Lexus for a DD......

I've owned and had experience with Volkswagen/ Audi and I hope we can save you from an ignominious fate.... I will admit they are fun to drive but when the electrical Gremlins appear, its painful..... My sons' friend bought an A4 last year and from what I've heard, its only been on the road and out of the shop for 1/2 that time! I had a GTI that, when it rained, the wipers would quit!! Just before I unloaded it, the only way I could keep the headlights/wipers/horn working was to Electrosol the stupid Bosch electrical connectors on the rear of the main fuse panel. When it was working, I admit, it was really fun! If you insist on German, go for a BMW, if you can afford it! GOOD LUCK!

What Pole said is true. I've owned a new Audi back in 06 and after 3 years it started having electrical issues, interior falling apart, etc. The wife just got rid of her 08 VW for the same reasoning. I tried to tell her before she bought it but she insisted because it was cute and she really really liked it..

That's what I get for moving away from Toyota/Lexus brand for DD. Learned my lesson!

95k miles
Black leather
Dual zone auto ac
Butt warmers
Auto headlights(projectors too )
All 4 windows are one touch auto

Just put a nice set of winter tires on that thing, and it's going to be one hell of a nice vehicle for snowboarding trips. I think it fits you well. Not as well as the 4Runner... but well enough.

I love the house Ripcord. Same goes with the Audi.

My brother can testify to the electrical gremlins concerning Audi, they were everywhere on his A4 during college. Check your grounds and bad solder joints in relays. Since that looks to be a TX car, as long as it wasn't near salt water, the electrical connectors won't develop severe oxidation in them.

Ahh, I stopped by to take a look, nice 4Runner nonetheless. Yeah it's a little more comprehensive than scangauge, but now that you own a VW/Audi it's a life saver sometimes. RS4 wheels look sweet, and the easiest thing to do right off the bat is probably a chip and intake, then jump up to a turbo back exhaust. :nod:

I kinda did the opposite of what you're doing, but mine was an '03 Jetta VR6. It's the best driving vehicle I've ever owned... it's like driving a true machine. As others have said, I ditched it because of electrical gremlins and it wasn't very fun in the winter, but it was FWD.

Sad to see your 4Runner dismantled, that's a beautiful car you've got though! hope it treats you well - enjoy!
