Ripping out the 3rd row seating in 2011 Limited

Has anyone actually swapped the third row seating into a TE yet? Brother is headed onto the island with his wife in a few months and I would like to do this so they do not have to get a rental.

Highly doubtful that a TE swap is different than an SR5 swap (converting a sliding tray to fit the 3rd row seat). Yes, it has been done.

I have a American Rottie that is taller than most and he needs a little head room. He is the reason I went back to the 4runner as he loves to hang his head out the back window. Unfortunately all Limited models comes with the 3rd row seating.

All limited models unfortunately do not come with 3rdRow seating. At least here in the east cost of USA. You have to special order it to get one. Upon my phone call to Toyota Customer Ser. Rep. I was informed that different models and available options are sent to different region(s) that has a high demand value for that specific model and option(s). Unless you order one from Japan and wait 6Weeks to 8Weeks to get it at over invoice price, you're not getting one in the east cost. Not the trail edition either (any option). In the west cost, however, almost every dealership has the 3rd row in stock.

Toyota should hire a new regional analyst because every person looking for a 4Runner, wants that option. No one wants to wait and pay over invoice. Everyone wants everything now now now at low low low prices. There are many upset potential buyers in this region because some analyst couldn't complete his report sufficiently.

Overall, you're pretty lucky to say the least to have found one. Once you take the 3rd Row out which you could always put back in the vehicle, your dog will be safer with side curtain airbags. :bigok:

Here in Canada, when you get a limited its got 3rd row in it, its standard equipment. Same as the Trail, it comes with the slide out tray STD equipment, no choices here TCI makes the choices for you.

I put a 2003 :barf: Jeep seat in my 4th gen. It folds, tumbles and is easily removable. All I'm left with is the small mounting brackets in the floor with the seat removed.

As soon as I find another set of mounting brackets I will install them in my 5th gen trail too.

Not everyone wants the third row. I wouldn't have one with it- I think it's a waste of space and too small and hard to get into to be useful, especially if you have little ones with carseats. That's why my wife has an Odyssey with a real third row that can be accessed easily...
