In looking at my intended purchase on Discount Tire, I don't see a P rated tire.
This is what I see offered.

Goodyear SA Update
I've had my SA's on for 1 month and about 1400 miles (stock size 265/70/16, P rated), so I thought I'd update my initial impressions.
They took a little getting used to at first. They were installed with pressure of 38 psi - I quickly reduced that to 35. It definitely made them ride bettter. At times early on, they seemed a little squirly on the road, but I don't notice it much any more - I think that in fact they are so grippy that they grab onto ruts and ridges and it feels like it makes the truck move some, but it in no way feels uncontrolled. The noise level is slightly more than the stock tires, but at this point I don't even notice it.
In the rain I've been very pleased. I've charged into deep standing water on the road, and it does nothing to the 4Runners traction or direction.
Last weekend I got off road on to a moderate trail, made a little tougher due to snow above treeline 2 days before. Parts of the trail were like a running stream, and there were many muddy slick areas, although no deep mud, and lots of stream crossings including some with steep exits that had large rocks preventing a quick exit. Regardless of the conditions, the tires (and 4Runner) did great! I had lots of grip in all conditions except in a few muddy spots, and even there, with a steady foot on the gas pedal and Atrac doing its thing, I kept moving ahead in a controlled manner.
While the truck feels a little sluggish off the line and to get moving on the highway, I think it's more perception than reality (I have a V6 and am in the Colorado Rockies). My mileage is totally unaffected - no change at all.
The only thing left to experience is how it does in some real snow, which won't be that far off.
Hope that helps some of you thinking about these tires.

Great write-up Marked. I am getting my Silent Armors next month and can't wait! My current tires (OEM Bridgestone Duehlers) have about 35,000 miles on them and even though I could probably go another winter with them, I'd rather not. According to the Farmer's Almanac, we are supposed to have a pretty rough winter i.e. colder and more precipitation. I have heard nothing but great things about these tires and I am looking forward to getting them. I will post some pics when I get them on.

Finally pulled the trigger today and ordered 5 for my truck. Discount Tire had a better price than Tire rack on the web.
Expect it will be at least a week for shipping and a week to get my shop to install.
(2:15 p.m UPDATE: Discount just called. Tires are on backorder from GY factory so it could be ???? weeks. Happy Friday for me.
Will check the local shops to see if I can find some in stock. If no joy, will need to pick something else.)

I do read them... Does anyone else get the sense that there's a substantial GIGO factor on the Discount and Tirerack reviews? I always sort to read the low ratings first. Especially on the low ratings and to some degree on the high ratings I get the sense some people aren't even reviewing the same model tire. It also seems there's some who just trash talk for the sake of trash talking a brand too.
What kills me though are the reviews where people take the time to login, write a review and seemingly review the wrong tire. The comments are so far out of the park they have to be on crack or talking about some other tire. Lots of this with the GY SA's and various Michelins too. The other one I see is the occasional rave review of the BFG Ragged Trail:wtf: I can only assume they are confusing a T/A.
Anybody else think the same???
