well I have a little bit more good news. and some bad.

bad: my classes do switch over so I will not be able to make it. :/

good: my instructor is buying my engine. so now that's $300 I was going to put partially into a body lift but now... (I don't have time to fab right now though)

Update I can :).

Got rid of the saggy butt. Now I want a real lift but can't afford one for now. Eventually.

REALLY want an OME 2" lift but no money for it... damn springs making me want more. Next immediate mod will be driving lights on the bumper. I don't have my welder with me right now so I can't build any of my slider action. May download a cad program for a little bumper fun.

Alright guys... gave in one more time and ordered one of those cheapo "intake kits" off ebay. My stock tubing is held together with a good amount of electrical tape so I think it's time.

Anyone interested in what an ISR mod will do on a stock 3vze? I'll try to run it on the dyno with the stock airbox unless I can't make it fit. Shouldn't be much of a difference though.

Now if I can sell a motorcycle and a set of wheels, maybe I can make another $6-700.

hmm bring on the cold!

went to open my tailgate window and it worked fine. going up was another story. must have shifted from shrunken metal or something. hope this isn't going to be a problem. might have to pull it apart.

I can also hear something banging around. oh and it made three (6) nice vertical gouges in my window. that span the whole length.
 
hmm. I know it's pretty common but i'm not sure if I like the stock markers like the ARB uses or just the standard round ones...

you know what? I hate my luck sometimes.

Its developed a tick right where the all the bearings are in the bottom end. I plastigaged everything, torqued it all to spec and have good oil pressure. wtf is it now? :/ just did an oil change and its a little quieter now.

I guess I better start the machine work on my spare 3.0
 
I'm not too worried about the engine noise anymore... though I will eventually build a new 3.0.

just thought you guys would be interested in this. I bought this intake off of ebay for my Toyota knowing it would be cheap ($33). I am a little surprised though to be honest. Came with more than I thought.

Typical K&N copy... needs to be oiled. Same quality as the $20 spectre filter. Tubing, adapter and brackets are made of lowest quality, fairly ductile aluminum. Surprised it had brackets though. Not sure why I have a breather filter either. Silicone hoses are really thick.

A little surprised at this, but expected... Just drilled and welded it up. I'm going to clean this up so nothing gets in the engine.

Also a little surprised at this too... These are for sale all over the place, but this is definitely not a machine weld. It's a TIG weld by hand.

I'd say it probably cost $8-10 to manufacture and about $5 to ship. not too bad of a profit margin anyway. Let's see what it does on the car.

edit: another note... the VAF meter adapter is better than the one you can pick up at a parts store by Spectre. I say this because I bought one for my Mazda and had to drill the middle four holes that these meters use, and as a result I was off by a bit and could only use 3 nuts. I shouldn't have a problem with this.

got my intake installed. Not too impressed with fitment. All I had was my set of tools (worked for everything) and a parking lot. They made the tubing the exact size as the intake boot. I had to bring it down a bit to make it fit. Sounds pretty loud though. Seriously need to do the exhaust next... the leak bugs the hell out of me and the engine's choking on the exhaust. Can't get rid of it fast enough.

I'm enjoying it. Looks like it's pretty dusty everywhere else under the hood though. Probably clean it up and try to do something offroad. Just don't have the time.
