Rock sliders for 4runners with KDSS?

Looking for some recommendations for some rock sliders that will work with KDSS. I wanted to get some from Relentless Fabrication out in Nevada but, unfortunately their setup won't work with KDSS models.

And your model has KDSS? Are those bolt or weld on?

I'm super happy with my RCI sliders. Easy bolt-on install on my KDSS 'Runner.

4X4Labs - They do make them for KDSS (thanks to me), they are bolt-on, by far the beefiest and are boat side type.

Yes, I have KDSS. The drivers side plates are cut out different and fits in behind the lines. They are also direct bolt on too.

C4 Fabrication gets my vote. All sliders from professional companies will usually be well built but C4 has great prices and the best look imo

do your research and you'll find no ever complains about Shrockworks (except the wait to receive them). i love mine.

I went with the Randy Ellis Design sliders for my 2013 TE based on the recommendation of Steve Schaefer of Sonoran Steel.

I second RCI. I was able to get in on the group buy in Dec which saved me quite a bit. The offroad shop installed the KDSS specific ones with the treadplate no problem. I loved that they came painted.

X100. Had them on my last 4runner as well as current. They offer considerably more clearance than any other brand cause they replace the lower trim panel and the slider is easier to use as a step. I had bud built in the past and while the quality was fine, I was always bothered by how far they "winged out" and hung low. Most other brands are gonna be more similar to the bud built than the 4x4Labs.

I'd safely bet that you'd be happy with any of the ones suggested in this thread. Speaking just for the RCI, they typically maintain stock and are fast to ship them out. I'm not sure if they group buy left them cleaned out, or which of the other companies have stock on hand.

2014 4runner Trail Premium. Shrockworks sliders, Weather tech floor mats, ebay LED interior and exterior lights. Some sort of high falutin tint, and clearbra.

Another vote for shrockworks. Some of the best powder coat available and I didn't want a kick out. Sleek protection was the name of the game for me. I beat the shit out of the set on my Tacoma so I know they will hold up well on the 4Runner.

I like my Metaltech's.

They carry them in stock, powder coated and bolted on with my kdss.


You can't go wrong in the end with any suggested. Metaltech won me with a few things.

1. They are local to me, so saved $100-150 on shipping over others.

2. No lead time, in stock and ready to go.

3. I like the design, they are not just hunks of steel welded up, they are engineered and save weight in areas they could.

4. Black Friday discount made them a great buy IMHO!

I am in the slider market as well and have spent quite a bit of time reviewing this site for options/opinions. What's weird is the sliders I am most interested in, Hefty Fabworks, have little play that I can find among this crowd. Can anyone offer more insight on Hefty?

I like the RCI and the Shrockworks though I'd hate to have to wait months after paying for something. I'm thinking to get bare metal and paint them myself with a textured black spray paint. That would make touching up easier I think.
