Rock Toy Industries 3rd gen 3.4 Turbo Build

Ok so my question now is I am taking it no wincH and what are your plans for a bumper. Looks like a tight fit so that is what I am interested in seeing. Moab needs to come a lot quicker this year.

I dont see where the IC is large enough to cause an issue for either or them, he will have to cut out a support or two to re-install the grille. I dont see this being an issue at all on my truck with the Winch as far forward and low as it is in the AOR Plate bumper.

Hadn't thought of there being any clearance issues for a winch or bumper, it would kind of make this kit a mute point except for those sticking strictly to the street.

True. If it is running anything that has the winch that far forward it won't be an issue. I know mine is a no way in hell kinda deal for my "super secret bumper build" project. Just interested to see how he does the front end.

Te street croud is an definite no problem as they are the pavment pounding types.

The grille fits with a little but of trimming. I will need to cut a little out on the top plate of the ODL bumper but it's all going to go back together. I can also move the AC condenser and IC back about another inch if needed.

Moab is fast approaching!

That should clear up a little room.

A little less than two months but seems like I have so much to do :( you got a bit yourself. At least you have a shop to work in. I am all driveway baby lol

Got to ride in the lobster today. Man that thing is so sweet! Never get tired of that sound! Great work RTI!

Much more power than mine with the S/C and 2.2 pulley. And you're pushing 35's! Awesome.

Thanks Jeff! I'm going to work on tuning it some more and then I'll let you take it out and romp on it :D

so heres my question, how much did it cost you roughly to make it? and eventually when you can come up with an aftermarket kit what kind of price range are we looking at?

Very interested in hearing a final kit or manifold price as well. I was about to pull the trigger on an SC, but saw this post and am waiting to see the outcome. I'm in Lakewood and would really like to check out the truck and get a ride along to experience the kit first hand if possible.

Definitely gonna have to see where this goes :D I'm a pavement pounder... But the high lag is one of the things I'd like about this.
And you said the 12lbs of boost is too much? Because I've read around 15lbs is when stuff decides to start flying through the block if you don't upgrade piston connecting rod crank etc..
Anyways I'm almost willing to drive to CO and stay for a bit to have this done xD it doesn't seem to be a very long process if you have all the parts on hand...

Ive found with a good tune with e85. Meaning good afr, good timing curve, no detonation you can run a lot of boost without issues. My plan is to run 15psi on e85 if I ever go the turbo route.

Its hard to say exactly with this build. There are a few things that would be different for a production kit, we had the turbo sitting on the shelf, and had to have a few lines custom made. I have some leads on a fab shop that would produce the manifolds for us so thats will be the deciding factor on how much a kit would cost.

Feel free to swing by the shop and i'll bring you for a drive.

Too many variables to really say what is too much boost. I want to keep it around 8-10PSI.

I was just thinking about E85 aswell. The nice thing about the FTC piggyback is you can make up a few different maps on loading them up only takes a minute or 2.

Walbro 255lph fuel pump is due for delivery tomorrow and then more tuning.

In a lot of the mitsubishi applications the 255lph HP would overun every stock fuel pressure regulator making tuning impossible and very rich idle. This was on 1g, 2g eclipses, evo's, galants, pretty much anything we make fast. Is this an issue on the 3.4L stock fuel regulator?

So i guess no word from RTI??? Oh well looks like ill have to make my own. There is a kit from CX Racing for the 5VZ FE but it looks like all the other Chinese ebay crud.
