I wouldn't expect a load to exceed 200lbs, as my heaviest normally consists of 2 kayaks (120lbs combined), along with a trunk that normally holds camping gear- estimated weight on that +/- 80lbs. If I were to purchase, the most accesorizing would the typicals: LED light bar, shovel and axe mount.

This rack looks really good. What is the weight, estimated? If the factory rails are rated at 300lb, I'm wondering what expected capacity is. I see 200lbs mentioned, but would just like confirmation that these guys aren't pushing 150lbs plus.

I don't remember how much the rack weighs but a quick call to RRO will let you know. Maybe 40lbs. The side rails are going to fail before the rack does.

It's Sunday, I imagine they're closed. I don't need exact numbers, just "eh, it's about as heavy as a big bag of dog food" type of estimate, so the 40lb estimate is good enough for me. Thanks.

A roof rack had been low on my priority list given the cost and inconsistent reviews. Now I'm debating between suspension upgrade or this rack. I'll probably end up getting the suspension and factory rails to tie me over.

As stated I would guess maybe 40 lbs. Honestly I don't really remember though as it's been up there for years. Mine will be coming off soon to be replaced by a front runner or K9.

Be sure you get the right length. I got one for my 2014 TE, and so i naturally purchased the Trail option. the rack they sent was too long. I had to pay shipping to send back to RRO to get the SR5 length as a replacement.

Fit good, I assume 2014+ have the same lenght racks between all 4runners.

Just had first rain and notice some rust at the welds. Not happy about that. But a very solid rack. Noisier then I thought too.

Nope. The stock side rails will be in the way.

Cool. Too bad. I really like the RRO functionality and price, but I'll be needing an awning. Maybe I can find a different mounting system but still go with the rack kit.

Yeah [MENTION=117648]Jabberjaw[/MENTION], I really like the RRO rack, it is a great solution, strong, and low-pro if you are not after the larger choices like the Baja, etc. Mine has been on for a year plus and it has held up well. That looks like a pretty straightforward bracket, I imagine you could get something to work on the RRO without too much trouble. I know they have a Hi-Lift and shovel and axe mounting brackets, you could take a look at those. Or give them a call, their customer service can be a little slow sometimes but they have great products.

Nope. You install it instead of the crossbars.

How was it too long? Are the trail roof racks different from sr5's? I thought the only difference were the end cap colors.

I used a piece of aluminum angle to whip up an awning mount in a pinch so it is easily doable. Maybe not the most elegant.
The RRO rack is really a pretty solid universal platform, although shorter than some other options.

[MENTION=130053]tlef805[/MENTION] i spoke to RRO today and they said the reason some racks don't fit the TE is because dealers convert sr5's to TE's. Was that the case for you?
