Roll up traction pad recomendation

I'm looking for something compact for the winter or summer trips. I have seen a couple products like this:

Does anyone have experience with these or something similar. Primary use would be snow.

They almost certainly will be better than nothing.

A shovel is more important though, small if necessary, though I carry a full sized one.
