Doing a quick build thread of my roof rack and the lights that are on it. Bought this Coleman safari off Cragslist for 40 bucks. I ran it for a while with nothing on it then felt the sudden urge to do something with it. Some guys in my group asked if i could do a build of the wiring and such, so here it is!

so i started by sanding the factory powder coat to give the bed liner something to stick to, and really went at some of the corners where it began to rust. Then I hit it with three or four coats of spay on bed liner from Bond. Stuff worked great and I love the look and feel of it. Let it dry in my backyard for a few hours while i worked on other things.

Once the rack dried up, I took it back in the garage to start test fitting where i wanted my reverse lights and my scene lights. The rear facing lights are 50w halogens, got them at auto zone or wal-mart or something. Nothing super special. The scene lights are 15w LED work lights from amazon. I absolutely LOVE these lights. They are only 15w and put out 1100 lumens. They are steel and glass. They don't feel cheap at all and were only about $30 a piece.

I really wanted to wire the lights into the cab without having them visible. I thought about it for a while then came up with the idea to back out a stock roof rack screw and put the wires through it and run them through the headliner down the pillar and to the switches. It wasn't too hard and it looks very clean. Then just put some silicone or sealer of your choice around the wires so water doesn't drip in. I ran the wires to the switches which I had in the stock pop outs. I found a jackpot at Wal-mart which where these 3m switches that fit flawlessly into the OEM pop outs. They were only 3 bucks a piece. Thats all the pictures I have for now, Im gonna try to get some more of the lights in action.
