ok guys, I have been a member for years but at my age (66) you guys get a little complicated for me. I just sold my gen 4 and bought a gen 5 limited. No cross bars. The only thing I would like is a cargo basket on the roof. Needs to be well built and NOT need the cross bars. That 1000$ plus gobi is out of my range. Any others that stay low and bolt directly to roof rack runners that aren't a small fortune???

If I remember correctly there was someone here that mounted the Yakima BasketCase between the side rails but I could be mistaken. I don't have the OEM rails anymore or I'd check the dimensions for you.

I think this is the mod you were referring to. Looks like a simple and cheap means to get a low cost, although lightweight, basket for some additional roof storage.
