Thanks harper I had already downloaded that pdf but it didn't list yearsfor the models. Btw the way, I we talked on here a while back about a lift for a limited I was thinking about trading in my 2010 sr5, ended up getting it and am getting the lift from toytec installed nxt wk in grapevine
 
I want something with dvd playback cababilities, looked at the kenwood and alpine set ups but by the time you add installation it was almost 2k, so 1-1.5k looked good for a drop in and drive deal. Ill sell the factory one its less than a month old

the rosen for the 5th gen is just there double din packaged with a scosche das kit and wire harness. if you can install that you can install the pioneer or kenwood yourself. it would be tight but i believe you could probably get out the door around 1500 on a pioneer avicz130 and the kit and harness with the swips for steering wheel controll. the interface is the best on that of all the new models. th kenwoods load too slowly. i sell the rosen units and the aftermarket ones in my store and the factory look rosen is pretty cool but in our trucks since its just a double din you can get more bang for your buck with one of the big names.
 
thanks for the reply platinumb, how much are the rosen units? i was quoted for the top kenwood and alpine units, and by the time you added satellite radio, pac steerwheel controls, metra or schoche panel, etc, it was like 1800? I was searching and the rosen units looked like there were drop and play with everything from the steering wheel control to the factory bluetooth.

i am in denver, best store to buy themfrom in your state is going to be car toys. not the cheapest retail prices but the sales people do have the ability to adjust the prices they just like to claim they cant so with a little haggling you should end up with a pretty good deal. also look on e bay i just found a new pioneer avicz130bt with the xm tuner from an ebay store for 950 add kit harness and steering adaptor still under 1200 but you get free hd radio and far superior i pod controll. just a thought. good luck. i have been in car audio for 15 years so i should be able to help if you have any questions about install etc...

The Pioneer has DVD playback capability and on the move(for the passengers of course;-).As platinumb stated the Pioneer Avic's are hard to beat for around $1000 unless your using it mainly for nav. In which case the Kenwood's with the garmin instead of tomtom are kings.

I've had my Pioneer Z120BT,which now goes for around $8-900, for a year now and still love it.160gb Ipod classic in the glovebox and all my music at the touch of a screen.Every once in a while it has a glitch,or it's my ipod, but not many . The interface is very very similar to Apple's ipod/phone/pad interface with the flick and touch.Not like the stupid iTunes software though,thank goodness.

Simple wire pin switch on the connector to hack so you can watch dvds or do anything on the move.
 
i do have to say, kenwood is the way to go, if nav is primary. i thought the pioneer was the best, but kenwood with garmin... can't complain. i just wish i could afford one.
