Rotella T6

Old dead thread revival.

Shell DM'd me on Instagram this week and told me the T-6 5/30 multi-vehicle (approved latest gassers and diesels) is close to being on shelves soon. No more poisoning of cat fears are around the corner. Ive been using T6 5/40 in my Hayabusa and '15 sti Subaru with great lab results for 2years now. The cat freindly T6 5/30 is a no brainer especially in cooler climates as T6 5/40 is more like a 35 when new. The 30w may be the perfect oil for us with the newer 4.0L.

The T6 40w shears very well over its lifespan and if the 30 is same way it will be a 20w even at drain time.

Ooooh I haven't heard of that yet. I'm running Rotella T6 in my 94 Supra, but it's straight piped, so the whole cat thing isn't an issue. The new viscosity is something cool to look forward to!

Says on bottle...

that it's safe for diesel and gasoline engines. Doesn't that say it all for those who wonder about cat damage?

I've used it for over 125,000 miles, all good.

Now I like to create my own little mix. About 4 qts castrol full synth high mileage (5-30) and either t6 or castrol's diesel (15-40) for the remainder. Purrs and stays super clean inside.

My atvs love t6, quited those rattly old polaris 500s. Honda mower loves it too.

:cowboy:

If you engine doesn't burn oil you don't have to worry about T6 killing your CAT. Saying that I ran T6 in my Saturn for 80-90,000 miles burning a qt of it every 1000 to 2000 miles and nothing ever happened to the CAT.
