Rotopax Mounting

Has anyone mounted Rotopax gas cans flat on the roof? Any issues with leaking? It says leakroof but I have my doubts. I was thinking of two 2 gallon cans on my roof basket.

Any better low profile gas cans or storage?

Thanks

Gas cans

I mount Rotopax fuel and water containers flat on my Rhino roof rack.
I’ve not had any leakage issues. That said, you will likely need to vent them off at times if your traversing with altitude or considerable temperature swings.

I have mounted on Gobi stealth. It is nice size wise to not be higher than the side rails. But I have had leakage. Not having the threads completely lined up leaving a small gap in the seal. Also when traveling and going through a pressure change that warped the rotopax in 4 hrs. Rotopax was good with replacing it.
