Rotopax

Does anyone have any recommendations on the mounting hardware. $50 a pop is insane, they mounts will end up costing more than the containers themselves.

Has anyone been successful in using a cheaper and as effective mounting set?

$60 for a 2.4 gallon fuel tank is insane to me. But YMMV. I'd go to the hardware store and buy a large washer, a bolt, and a wing nut. Should work about as well as most mounting options. Two bolts/wing nuts and an electrical cover seems to work well too.

I've been using a 6 gallon water container for a while, but that no longer fits upright now that I have ARB drawers in the back of the 4Runner, and the wide mouth cap/spigot is an accident waiting to happen lying horizontally.

Got any recommendation on rotopax or other containers that would work well in the cargo compartment on top of ARB drawers, and that can be easily secured so they don't become missiles in a rollover?

The shape is convenient for sure. I'm surprised there aren't more generic versions priced like normal gas cans.

i have rotopax and several Nato (the real Wavian , not the $25 POS) and with the nato cans have no problem with leaks. Some of those cans I have had for 10+ years. I prefer the Nato Cans but the Rotopax stores pretty easy since it can slide in just about anywhere

For tie downs I have used an "S" track tie down system in 3 different trucks with great success.

Rotopax appears to make Fuelpax according to Rotopax on ebay..
