rough idle

While driving home tonight I noticed that the cruise control had to down shift to keep speed up but thought nothing of it. Then when I went to stop at a red light, the truck almost stalled. It did this continually until i got home. Every time I stopped the lights would flicker and the truck would be within inches of stalling. While trying to accelerate the truck would struggle until RPMs got up, then it seemed fine.

I figured it was spark plugs since it has 58000 miles on it but I'm at a loose. The dealer wants $80 just to look at it. Any ideas?

Is this a V6 or V8 if it is a V6 the plugs should have been replaced at 30,000 miles. If you have a V8 the plugs should still be good for another 40,000 miles

Sounds like it might be the battery or the alternator. You can get those both checked for free at Pep Boys, Sears and many auto parts stores.

Its a V8. I think it may be the MAF sensor. The plugs looked good. The strange thing is that their is no check engine light or anything.
