RSG vs Shrockworks sliders

These were two of those I looked at the most, going Shrock.

Shrock has superb powdercoat, I doubt anyone comes close.

But I did have a second front leg welded to the pax side slider and will add one to the driver side as well. Note that even with extra legs welded, the Shrock come at the same price of discounted RCI or RSG but with great powdercoat.

But RSG maybe just fine and I think they may have shorter times or even stock them.

No experience with RSG. I installed Shrockworks dimpled tread sliders a couple of weeks ago on my 2016 Pro and will be testing them in Moab in two weeks. When I ordered them they had units in stock and ready to ship. I opted for textured powder coating so that took a week. Their powder coating is outstanding as mentioned previously. Be prepared to do some drilling as 5th gen frames have changed over the model years. Mine required use of supplied “sticknuts” in a couple of places that did not have threaded inserts where the slider bolted up. Their sliders also use the bolt location where the front support strap for the gas tank is located. So make sure you have an extra jack or stand to support the gas tank. I did the installation by myself and it took all day but am pleased with the end result and have no doubt that these sliders will perform as required. They are rock solid.

They are both good sliders.. I have my sliders for over a year now from RSG.. I recently got hit by a lexus.. it wasn't a speeding factor more like a wrong turn.. It leave the color of car on my rsg sliders without a dent nor hitting my body..

So for me thats good enough.. I went with them due to their 100 off which they have a March special right now.. [MENTION=152854]JasonRSG[/MENTION] can help u.

Will these work as a hi lift jack point?

Yes. I believe they would. I qualify this by my experience while installing their tube sliders on my daughter's 3rd gen. Tacoma. We actually lifted it off the ground with a floor jack on the sliders while trying to close a gap on one of the bolt locations. No deflection or distortion of the slider. I have the dimple tread sliders on the 4R but would expect similar results.
As a side note, the gap was removed just by loosening some of the other bolts and working each a little at a time to tighten them.

RSG for me

I went with RSG as they have 4 mounting posts instead of 3 like most others. They also had a shorter lead time, come with a "flat" option, a top plate option and the available "bump out" which I wanted for several reasons. They are also good for use with a Hi-lift jack. The powder coating on mine was perfect as well. Totally bomb-proof so for and Jason at RSG will take good care of you.

I'm considering sliders from either Shrockworks or RSG. From what I can tell, the Shrockworks sliders have 2 mounting points:

vs RSG have 4 mounting points:

Are the 2 mounting points on the Shrockworks sufficient to support the weight of the truck if I slam down on a rock from, let's say 3"-6"?


Also -- Can someone tell me how I can put images on Dropbox (public folder) and have them actually appear in this post? I eventually had to move the images to a different server just to get them to appear...

Imho....
I would go with the RSG....fwiw I have C4, and love them.

REASONING.....I think that the two arms are plenty strong, but my concern would not be the arms bending, but the force transfered into the frame attachment points. Any force imparted acts like a lever and pushes the mounting plates laterally into the frame. The more area that this can be spread to, the better.

I have Shrockworks sliders and have abused the hell out of them. They have saved me from major body damage multiple times.

 

[Lost in trees]

Have Shrockworks as well. I liked the bump out at the rear, works great as a step for roof rack access. Slid off icy road last year into a tree at driver door, sliders kept tree/truck away from each other….with no damage! Shrockworks black powder coat also undamaged. Just a stiff brush to remove tree bark!
