'Rubbed' a little too hard this weekend.

Hi guys,

Finally got some budbuilt skid plates installed the other day and the added weight plus a little trail action resulted in this:

Looks like I tore the fender out of its little housing due to rubbing.

I'm running 285/70R17 tires with OME shocks.

What do you guys think the best option is to solve this? Changing the suspension? Trimming the fender?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

options

1. never wheel
2. remove lift and tires
3. downsize to 225/45/17
4. tell your alignment guy to try again
hearno is right, more caster will solve this (to a degree)

If you don't have afternarket upper control arms an alignment may be a waste of money, as there likely isn't ebough adjustability in the suspension otherwise. I do agree however, your only option to avoid rubbing in the future would be to adjust the caster to pull those wheels more forward.

Thanks for the options guys. I think I'll start off seeing what can be done with more positive caster and then work my way down the other options.

It's interesting to see what changes and how everything is related the more you modify. I've added a lot of weight with the skids + winch + sliders so it makes sense the suspension needs some tuning.
