"Rubbing" sound... But not rubbing?

I have to ask if you're sure it's in the front? I know you know and have heard it before but,,things in the back sound like they are in the front. I didn't read that you check your rear components. My PH bar and rear UCA bolts get noisy wuick when out of spec. Although these aren't rubbing sounds.

Hope you sort it out and nice upgrade again.

So... I don't know what to make of this, but the sound appears to be gone

Went out on a trail today and listened to the freaking thing for about 4 hours. It drove me absolutely nuts. On the way back down, however, I hit a bump going a bit too fast (aired down and "S" setting on the coilovers made it not so bad...) and it hasn't made a peep since.

If it comes back I'll delve deeper into this, but for now, we rest.

Did you over torq the UCA?

Nothing is worse than a self resolving nasty sound. You always worry about something going to pieces and you have no idea what.

That said, my WAD,(wild ass guess), is that is a CV or wheel bearing...

I have a 99 Limited and have a similar sound to this as well that appears to be coming from the drivers front. I hear this rough sound, not like a tire rubbing but more like a wheel bearing starting to go bad sound. I hear it more so at low speeds turning right. The sound is probably there at higher speeds as well but obviously the exhaust sounds and tire hum drown it out. My truck has 125K and is still on original front wheel bearings. I did jack up the front and spin both sides to try and track the sound down but nothing showed up. Also did the wiggle test on both sides to check for wheel bearing play but the "seemed" tight. But this doesn't necessarily mean they aren't going bad especially since its different once the wheel bearing are carrying the weight of he vehicle. Seems to me like my problem is either the CV or the wheel bearing.
