Rugged rear sway bar links for 3rd Gens

Hi all,

I recently made a pair of rear end links for my heavily modified 4Runner, attempting to build upon the great aftermarket upgrades that are already offered. After running trails such as Elvis and Woodpecker in Arizona (YouTube them if you’re not familiar!), I am convinced that these are a superior product. I am offering these to fellow forum members only, if interested. Psraff was kind enough to provide me with the correct sway bar dimensions on the 3rd Gens and I am now offering these for sell to 3rd Gen owners (already have sold many sets for 4th/5th Gens). The main features of the sway bar links that I am offering:

• Zinc plated, Teflon lined rod end for superior longevity
• The unique feature of stainless steel misalignment spacers on both sides of rod end. In my experience this prevent premature wear of rod end from bolt and nut contacting rod end at full articulation
• Beefy zinc plated threaded steel rod rated at 125,000 PSI tensile strength
• New Energy Suspensions polyurethane bushings (I have tried thermoplastic and, in my opinion, these are too soft to hold up to many episodes of intense articulation). The supplied bushings are notched to carry additional lubricant. Much like Total Chaos UCA bushings, I have found that a waterproof and multi-purpose synthetic lubricant containing PTFE - such as Super Lube - prevents squeaking.
• All new Grade 8 hardware
• Hardware and bushings ship preset to fit a 2" rear lift, if you have more than 2" of rear lift I can customize the link lengths and setup (please PM me if that is the case)
• Simple installation with 19 mm wrench/socket.
• Instructions for installation/proper bushing deflection are provided

Also note the comparison picture showing the anemic stock link, and these stout, extended length links.

Also guys, I don't know about down there, but here in Alaska, I went to Auto Zone to replace my broken MOOG end links.... Just shy of $150 for the pair. And these are only $110....

No Brainer for me....
(Just hope Chris don't see this and up his price to $150.....)

You need to call the police or BBB or someone on Autozone...$150 for Moog sway bar links! Thats outrageous. Trailmix built some nice, sturdy ones for like $25...and I know a few of us have as well. Glad I don't live in Alaska.

Millerad1651: you are correct, I could have built a set of these for $20. But I wouldn't want to put that grade of hardware in those narrower sizes though the punishment I put mine through. I actually like the ES link idea, have seen it a few times, I just don't like how narrow the shaft diameter is or the grade of hardware use for those DIY kits. Granted they'd probably work for most people just fine. I was just sick and tired of bending links. Or wearing out the ball joint component of the Moog type of link. In my opinion, if your going to do it, overdue it and never worry about it. But then again, a certain amount of OCD may play into my decisions:lmao::lmao::lmao: I just really, really don't wont any suspension components to fail. Been there, not going back.

The max length the 3rd gen rear links can be is one inch longer than stock.
Any longer and they will come in contact with the lower control arms when fully compressed.
(this is for stock thickness LCAs, thicker LCAs would require the links to be slightly shorter)

steezemcqueen: I set these to 2" longer than stock. This is the limit where everyone that I've known starts hitting the lower control arm (including those who have successfully run the 2 gen links, which are still weak but 2" longer than the 3rd gens). If your rear suspension setup happens to be the first that rubs with a 2" extended link these are fully adjustable and you can decrease the length slightly to work properly on your setup.
