So lately been dumping lots of money into my 07 2wd 250k+ miles on it, have toytec bilstien coil overs up front and spc upper control arms, been running it for about 70-80k miles and love it. Recently put 35s on it then re geared it the broke it in and the break in was done I celibates with so donuts. Long story short trans did like. Been missing to much work chasing issues that older vehicles have just one after another. Any way my question is will my upper control arms work with this 3rd gen Tacoma I bought, I get conflicted info the more I read. I want to just swap the front shocks and arms but I’ll swap the spindles it I have to. Does any one have a definitive answer as to if the ball joint taper is the same on the Tacoma ass the runner?

I can't speak for the SPC arms, but the factory Toyota ones are the same (even the part # is identical for just the arm itself) but use different ball joints. I actually have a pair off a 2017 Tacoma TRD in new condition if interested.

I’ll probably just swap out the spindles lca’s and uca’s between the two vehicles my runner has polyurethane bushing and 5th gen calipers and rotors

You’ll have to swap over calipers/dust shields as well. Spindle mount location for calipers is different from your Tacoma spindles. Just get the correct ball joints from SPC, they’re about $100-120 and with 70-80k on them they’re due for replacement anyway.

I just don’t wanna dump more money then I have to on the runner so that’s why I wanna put the Tacoma uca’s and spindles on the runner. Not worried about the dust shields I don’t run them

Right, I mean if swapping your 4R spindles to your taco, the whole thing would have to go. LCA, spindle, brakes, the whole shabang goes because your taco calipers won’t mount up on the 4R spindles and vice versa. Also to take into consideration are wheel speed sensors (I don’t remember if this is in the diff or spindle side on the 4R) and abs connections. Try it and report back lol.

Right, I mean if swapping your 4R spindles to your taco, the whole thing would have to go. LCA, spindle, brakes, the whole shabang goes because your taco calipers won’t mount up on the 4R spindles and vice versa. Going to be on the spindles for the speed sensors my runner is 2wd and my taco is 4wd but if it was 2wd it would have to pick up from the wheel bearings but will double check in a few hours when I get back to my truck

If I remember correctly the 4wd will be in the spindle but pick up from the cv splines? I’ve never had to replace one but I think I remember seeing the nub switching axles. Can you check on your taco?

Also the 2wd and 4wd bearing are the same just different hubs
