Are you sure you're getting fuel? Loosen nut of fuel filter and have a buddy start car. Just watch your eyes .

Quick shade tree voltage test - turn the dome light on and watch it while you try to crank. If it clicks and the light really doesn't dim much, it's not the battery. If it clicks and the light dims, the battery is weak.

A multimeter is better to put some numbers to it. But I'm with JayRolla - how do you know the starter is good? It's not uncommon for contacts in the starter to go bad, and when they do the symptoms are that it will click click click click crank.

Check all your grounds and connections. Sounds stupid but something being lose could definitely be the problem if the starter relay is clicking

My brand new Nippon starter did that the first day of use. Exchanged it for another no problems with second one.

Ive had no start/no crank issues from poor battery terminal connections before.

Check to see if they are tight. I have had my truck not start and they seemed tight. I removed the terminals and reconnected and all was fine.

Sometimes its really simple things that can help

I've had this happen several times in the past. It was always one of 3 things.

Dead battery.

Loose or corroded battery terminal connections

Bad starter contacts.

At one point, I had all 3 issues and it was a pain in the ass.

Have you tried jump starting?

Starter solenoid wire doesn't have power any suggestions?

You need to get to the starter relay to troubleshoot the problem. I can help with how to do that, but I need to know your year and if manual or auto. It really helps us if you put your rig details in your sig, as most of us have.

Or listen to the next fifteen internet guesses or stories about what fixed their brother-in-law's rig--your call.

Haha sorry it used to be on mine to but I have been building this one with a 98 sr5 Manuel body, with 99 limited auto motor, trans, diff, rear end and gas tank. What if I bypass the solenoid and run a start button and hide it so none can steal my turd

Sounds like a relay issue like stated above. You can bypass if you want but if starter is good, solenoid is good than it sounds like the relay is not working.

Bypassing the solenoid by shorting the solenoid terminals with a screwdriver is too barbaric - LOL!

Do it with more finesse... Bypass the starter relay by connecting the small male spade connector on the starter solenoid (shown here) directly to the battery while you try to crank (wire a momentary switch for safety). Here it is illustrated.

And this...

THIS^^^, most of the above... and also get to the starter solenoid...

... 99 3.4 auto.

...A multimeter is better to put some numbers to it...
Exactly; No excuse not to have a multi-meter if one wants to work on this own truck.

It was always one of 3 things...
Dead battery...
Loose or corroded battery terminal connections
Bad starter contacts.

All good possibilities^^^... A combination of above will prevent a starter that tests good ON THE BENCH from working on vehicle..

Bad/dead battery and/or corroded connections may energize the starter relay but may not be strong enough to actuate the starter solenoid. IF it still actuates the solenoid and solenoid clunks, there may not be enough power to crank the motor.
The solenoid may clunk energetically but if contacts are bad, not enough power to crank the starter motor.

Starter solenoid wire doesn't have power
How did you measure this?
Did the starter solenoid CLUNK and all? Energetically of faintly?

Is it safe to assume that you know the difference between starter relay and starter solenoid in Toyota terminology? (IIRC Ford calls the starter relay a "solenoid". in reality, a relay merely operates contacts to make electrical connection - like the Toyota starter relay. A solenoid does same BUT adds actuating a mechanical part- like Toyota starter solenoid moving a gear to engage starter motor with the flywheel)

Are you sure you're getting fuel?

He says relay clicks but no start so it implies that no start really means "no crank", not "no combustion".
Therefore, it has nothing to do with fuel.
