I planned on hooking up my lightbar and wiring my amplifier on my 2000 4Runner today, but after looking at the preexisting grommet in the firewall, I don't think I'll be able to fit the lightbar harness and amp wiring (4 Ga) in the same grommet as the wiring bundle that already runs through it. So, my questions for you folks are:
1. What kind of drill bit will I need in order to drill through the firewall to make a hole for a new grommet?
2. Where can I find the right kind of grommet to use? I looked on Amazon, but all that I could find were completely open grommets, which would leave space around the wires I'm running, which I'm assuming I don't want as it would let water through the hole, correct?
If there's a better way I can do this without having to drill a new hole, I'd love to know, but from what I can tell, the only option other than that is running it through the existing driver's side grommet, which like I said, doesn't seem like it will be possible to do without leaving the wires exposed to metal, or risking damage to the wire bundle that currently runs through it.
