Running Board Options?

hi guys,

I'd like to do some investigation on running boards. Since picking up my 2006 4Runner, I've never been a fan of the oem running boards, as shown in the pic (not my car but I have the same boards)

I'm looking for something maybe a little sleeker and less cheap looking. If anyone has upgraded theirs, I'd love to hear ideas and see pics.

I had mine off for a few days before I installed my sliders and loved the looks of it without them. If you aren't lifted, don't have small kids, and a short wife/gf, I'd ditch them. Only reason I kept mine as long as I did was so my son had a step, now he uses the slider as a step.

Ditto. I'd like to dump the rocker panel guards I have now -- these stock RBs are terrible.

Thanks for the ebay link... Those are intersting. I wonder what the quality is.

From what I gather, the only two options are the stock plastic running boards or the tube style boards (either OEM sport or aftermarket).

I have the same boards right now and I am planning on ripping those suckers off in a few days. Probably gonna pick some sliders up eventually because they are more rugged, more useful, and can be used as a side step. I'm just trying to come up with a solution for the lights. The Limited running boards have little lights on them so I'm thinking I'm gonna tap in to that wiring and install some sort of courtesy lights.

Look for some used OEM Sport Edition tube step runners. I went that route and my runner looks so much better.
